Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Lambda Iota's Philanthropy
Phi Mu at East Carolina University is proud to support the James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital at ECU Health through our partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). Our chapter is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of local children and families by raising funds and awareness for this incredible cause. Each year, we host three major community events to support CMNH. Our first annual event is Milkshakes for Miracles! A fun and delicious fundraiser where we serve milkshakes to raise donations for the hospital. Our second annual event is Friendsgiving. A heartwarming event that brings our community together to give thanks and give back. Our last annual event is BonnaMu! Our signature music festival-style philanthropy event that raises funds while celebrating live performances and sisterhood.Through these efforts, along with additional fundraising initiatives and hospital visits, we are committed to spreading joy and supporting the children who need it most. We believe that every child deserves a chance to live, grow, and thrive, and we are honored to be a part of that mission.
